Landmarks

WOW, it's crazy just how busy the last few weeks have been for Matt and I and all that has happened was fantastic!!! At the end of October Matt and I had leave dates (which like all leave it was put in over a year ago) but didn't think we would be able to use them. However, we lucked out and were able to use 3 days to do a little getaway from Minot before old man winter came to town. We took the girls and went down to Rapid City, SD! We stayed at Ellsworth AFB in pet tlf (like a hotel room) and spent 1.5 days in Rapid City. We hit up the landmarks that we saw as children (Mount Rushmore and Dinosaur Park) as well as the amazing maze I did with my folks as a kid. Our full day there was spent going to the Air and Space Museum at Ellsworth and a good 5 hours just in the black hills stopping for pictures and driving around, taking every bit of it in. We also took advantage of the local cuisine hitting up a delicious Italian Restaurant, Botticelli, and enjoyed some local beer with lunch at Firestone Brewing Co.
Matt and I had an amazing time in Rapid City. It truly is one of the top vacations that I have had with him so far. Just being able to get out and spend the day with my man without a care in the world was much needed and I am so thankful that we were able to find the money and time to getaway.
