Lets see, where did we leave off. After we returned from our leave in April life started to get super busy. Matt was putting together a big missile alert facility visit, he was helping put together his captain's promotion ceremony, and we were putting together Matt's captain party. Alongside all of this, Matt was finishing up a class, was trying to get his professional military education (Squadron Officer School in correspondence) finished (he did 2 tests in May within a week of each other), and Matt started up another master's class mid-May. So, we were extremely busy. However, all of this hard work paid off. The captain's ceremony went very smoothly. Alongside Matt, Jared Miller and Kevin Murray (2 guys from the 742 MS Flight Commander office) were getting pinned on. They all had a hand in the ceremony and all three were able to put good work into making sure the ceremony went smoothly. I want to thank Kevin and Jared for helping put the captain's ceremony together. I also want to thank Colonel Holloway for promoting us with his busy schedule (he and his family were about to move so he did the ceremony in between his outprocessing efforts). I also need to thank Captain Travis Jones for being our narrator (we couldn't have had a better narrator to talk and help make this event a success). One last thank you goes out to the family members and friends that came to the event. Thank you for attending and contributing to our promotion. Myself, Jared, and Kevin felt honored for all of those who came. Mandy video taped the event. We haven't been able to put in the video in this blogger. However, we found dropbox and have attached the link for everyone to see it. It is located here: C:\Users\MnM\Dropbox and is called Captain Pin On. For those of you who are electronic illiterate, simply copy the link, open up a new tab on your web browser, and paste the link in the link area. It will bring up our dropbox page and captain's pin on is right there. Double click on the video and you will need to download it. It takes about 2-3 minutes depending on your internet speed. Please feel free to watch it.

That night was the captain's party. We invited just a few of our friends to make a more intimate setting in order to celebrate this momentous occasion. The Silva's, McPherson's, John LaMonica, Leon Brown, Lok Tam, and others came to name a few. We had dinner (pulled pork and other delicious foods) and then cut the awesome cake Mandy bought. The cake had a captain rank on it and looked really cool. The captain's party went well and we all had a good time.
The very next day was the missile alert facility (MAF) visit. 24 people went in total. We only had one minor hiccup where some miss-information was given and one individual only brought 1 form of identification. However, we were able to figure out a work-around and get that individual on the site. When we got to N01, all I.D.s were checked and all family members were able to get on. Lt Ben Cooper and Lt Joe McNamara were the off-going crew members and since they had family coming Matt decided to have them changeover with Lt Chase Thornton and Lt Scott Ward so that Ben and Joe could go through the visit being with their family. The visit was a huge success and all members enjoyed see with the chefs, FMs, security forces, and crew members jobs entail on a day-to-day basis and also where their family members eat and sleep when out at the site. I can't thank the people who helped put this visit together enough and am glad it went so smoothly.
